The following is a listing of available notification /communication options available for use in Kingston and a brief explanation of their applicability in an emergency. Text Messaging (SMS):Text messaging is one of the primary tools used for notification. Note that one can only be reach by an emergency text message if they have registered to receive such messages. Register your cell phone number at the main office on the Emergency Contact Information form. Email:You will be notified via email in case of an emergency, if possible. Since not every emergency situation is similar or predictable, every person should rely on and use their best judgement when offering assistance to others in an emergency, without putting their own or other people's safety at risk. |
